Junior NatureSketch Richmond

September 25 @ 10:00 am October 23 @ 11:30 am PDT

This 5-week junior nature drawing course is taught by Vancouver artist and naturalist Bea Martin. With a fun approach perfect for budding artists, Bea will give participants an introduction to art fundamentals such as line drawing, understanding shapes, and shading techniques as you venture out into parks around Richmond. A sketchbook will be provided for you.

You will learn to create beautiful nature sketches of the various plants and animals that you come across on your journey. Gain confidence in drawing what you see and observe, basics of value, texture, light, and shadow, and an understanding of basic shapes. You’ll even learn some basics of nature journaling and new understandings of the plants and wildlife you find, which will encourage you to create your own sketches whenever you find yourself outdoors.
