Junior NatureSketch Online: Aquatic Life

November 5, 2022 @ 10:00 am November 26, 2022 @ 11:00 am PDT

Our waters are sprawling with life. Young students will learn how to celebrate this aquatic ecosystem by drawing and learning to nature journal their experience with this online drawing course designed for young minds.

In this 4-week Junior NatureSketch Online: Grassland Wildlife course, students will be taught by acclaimed children’s book illustrator Val Lawton, who guides us through art fundamentals such as line drawing, understanding shapes and shading techniques, with a fresh and fun approach that will encourage budding artists to create beautiful nature sketches. Using eco-literacy principles from world-renowned artist and naturalist, Robert Bateman, we encourage participants to connect to nature through art and observation.

Young minds will learn will to sketch animals and landscapes of the grasslands. They will learn to see and observe the intricate details, understand the basics of value, texture, light, and shadow, how all things are composed of basic shapes, and learn the fundamentals of nature journaling while gaining knowledge and appreciation of new animals and plants.
